Last Winter, I did something I rarely do: I broke form and worked against my own system.

I was in a difficult place—physically stagnant, energetically disconnected, and reaching for something that felt just out of reach. So I reached toward Asmodeus, during a waning moon, and asked him to help me lose weight.

On paper, the working had structure. The tools were right. The spirit was present. But the ritual failed—not dramatically, but quietly, like a match that never quite catches. I didn’t lose the weight. I didn’t gain insight. What I did gain was clarity—after the fact.

The problem wasn’t Asmodeus. It wasn’t the moon. It was that I was attempting to summon attraction energy (through a spirit of desire, excess, and appetite) within a phase aligned with release and decline. My goal was contraction, but I called an entity of expansion. And worse, my intent wasn’t anchored—it was emotionally urgent, but magically uncalibrated.

It wasn’t a cautionary tale. It was a moment of misalignment.

We don’t talk enough about ritual failure. About how magic stalls when our inner state and outer timing fall out of rhythm. But the truth is, this kind of misfire is part of the process. It’s a teacher.

This season—Litha and the Strawberry Moon—offers a rare convergence of clarity and intensity. It’s not just symbolic light. It’s an invitation to realignment, refinement, and deeper results.

I’ll be sharing something this weekend that’s rooted in exactly that principle: practice with purpose, timing with awareness, and spirit work that’s built to hold weight.
