Veil Between Worlds: Your Mid-Weekly, Witchy Update (April 4th, 2025)

In partnership with

Hey there, everyone! šŸŒæāœØ

Spring is a time of paradox—where darkness and light, chaos and order, endings and beginnings all weave together. The energies of April 1 and April 22 beautifully illustrate this contrast, showing us that destruction and creation, trickery and wisdom, shadow and renewal are all part of the cycle of existence.

Let's explore what these seemingly opposite days have to teach us.

šŸŒ‘ April 1: Dark Mother & The Trickster

April kicks off with an intense mix of reverence and irreverence. On Dark Mother Day, we honor deities like Black Annis, Kali, and other fierce goddesses who embody destruction, transformation, and the raw, untamed side of the divine feminine. They remind us that death is necessary for rebirth, that we must shed what no longer serves us before we can fully embrace the light.

And yet, on the very same day, we have Fool’s Day—a celebration of the God of Chaos Energy, a time for mischief, tricks, and unpredictability. It’s a day that reminds us not to take life too seriously, that sometimes truth is hidden in folly, and that laughter is just as sacred as prayer.

How to Work With This Energy:
šŸ”„ Shadow Work – What parts of yourself do you suppress or fear? Honor them today.
šŸŽ Play with Perspective – Let yourself be the fool! Try something spontaneous or silly.
🌘 Ritual of Release – Offer something symbolic to fire or water to honor transformation.

šŸŒ April 22: Earth, Love & Wisdom

Fast forward a few weeks, and we shift into an energy that feels entirely different—but is it really?

On April 22, we celebrate Earth Day, a modern observance that mirrors ancient traditions of honoring the land, the cycles of nature, and our connection to the planet. It’s a day of grounding, gratitude, and action, reminding us that our spiritual paths must also be lived in the physical world.

On the same day, the Festival of Ishtar (Babylonian) honors the goddess of love, fertility, and war, while Norse tradition recognizes Odin’s Day, celebrating the Allfather’s wisdom, sacrifice, and pursuit of knowledge. Each of these celebrations speaks to different facets of power, devotion, and renewal—whether through love, wisdom, or the natural world itself.

How to Work With This Energy:
šŸŒ± Earth Offering – Plant something or make an offering of food or flowers to the land.
šŸ’Œ Love & Connection Ritual – Celebrate the power of relationships, self-love, and creation.
šŸ“– Wisdom Seeking – Meditate or journal on a lesson you are integrating into your life.

šŸ”„ Destruction & Creation – The Lesson of the Spring Equinox

When we look at these two sets of celebrations, we see the same eternal truth: life is a cycle. The darkness and chaos of April 1 remind us that we must shed, destroy, and laugh at ourselves before we can step fully into wisdom, love, and rebirth on April 22.

The Spring Equinox, which just passed, mirrors this pattern—balance before the shift, equal light and darkness before the Earth tips toward growth. What are you letting go of? What are you building?

Both the Dark Mother and the Earth Mother, both the Fool and the Wise One, are guiding us through this cycle. How will you walk it?

Much love,
