What first comes to mind when you consider one of the most symbolic and culturally resonant fauna within the animal kingdom – the lion? A beast so outstanding and majestic that not only have secular societies around the world represented it in myriad forms of media, but within esoteric traditions is often exalted as a dynamic and ferocious aspect of the divine. From medieval alchemy to Christ himself, there is no shortage, it seems, in the potency this image wields.
